DJI Authorization Zone (Blue) - Self Unlock

DJI has defined “Authorization Zones” that will need to be unlocked prior to flying. You can unlock the area by requesting approval through DJI’s website or directly through Kespry’s app on your iPad.

Note: It is recommended to create your DJI account on a computer prior to requesting approval through the Kespry app

Go to https://www.dji.com/flysafe/self-unlock and log into your DJI account.

If this is your first time logging in, select “User Center” and fill out the Background Certification, Device Management, and Pilot Management sections.

Once this information has been provided, choose “Unlock Request” and then click the “New Unlock Request” button.

Choose “Zone Unlocking.”

Provide the Basic Information requested and click Next

Use the map to locate the location of your mission. Click anywhere in the blue authorization zone where your mission is located, and make sure the authorization zone is displayed under the map.

Enter the date of the flight, or a time range, and provide a reason for the request.

You may be asked to verify your identity by a third party service provider. Select the checkboxes and select “Proceed”.

Your account can be verified with a mobile phone number:

Enter your details and verify

Your verification will be completed instantaneously

And your Authorization Zone will be unlocked and ready to fly during the selected time for a maximum of 2 days.

Next Steps: Complete the below procedures on your iPad through the Kespry app.
Click on the Kespry App on your iPad and click on the menu icon located in the top left corner.

Choose Tools > Drone > Fly Zones

Log in to your DJI account

You should see the new unlocked zone in the top section (DJI Cloud).

Please note, you will need to transfer the unlock license from the cloud to the drone by clicking the refresh icon at the bottom of the screen. Also, if the unlock effective date is in the future, it will not sync to the drone. It will only sync to the drone if it’s in effect.

When completing the preflight checklist, the unlocked Authorization Zone should be detected and automatically unlocked. If it does not automatically unlock, click the “Unlock” button next to the “No Fly Zone” step.
