Kespry Cloud: 3D View Workspace

The 3D View Workspace (base plane visualization) allows you to see the volumetric calculation of your material in a 3D view to better understand how the volume was captured. Using the 3D view Workspace, you can quickly determine if the base plane is sloped, below ground level, or above ground level.

Follow the instructions below to review your own piles and use the 3D View Workspace:

  1. There are two different ways you can access the 3D Workspace after you draw your pile in the measure workspace, you can either select the pile you would like to view in the 3D Workspace and then click the hyperlink labeled See this in 3D View that shows in the top left with other pile details. The second option is to switch to the 3D View tab using the left side navigation bar.

  2. View your polygons by hovering over the name of a polygon in the list to the left of the 3D model.  This will display the corresponding polygon in purple on the model.

  3. Double click on the name of the polygon in the same left column to show the base points (green spheres).

  4. Use the Remove Pile and Remove Ground buttons at the top left of the screen to analyze your stockpiles.

  5.  Remove Pile allows you to see everything in the model except the polygon. If you see a ledge or a cut that looks too deep, the ground and pile are not level.

  6. Remove Ground allows you to see only the inside of the polygon or what material the system calculated to be the volume. Where the "ground" or "dirt" is shown on the model, you’ve likely counted too much material.
