Exporting GeoTIFFs for Design Surface Import using Civil3D

When exporting a surface as a GeoTIFF in Civil3D, please follow these steps to ensure that the correct projection is applied. Not following these steps may cause Civil3D to apply it’s proprietary projection code in the file instead of the EPSG code we require to correctly position your design surface.

1. Right click on the desired surface you would like to export.

2. Select “Export to DEM”

3. Set DEM File Name to a GeoTIFF filetype:

   Open

   
   Open

   

4. Select the Ellipses under “Export Coordinate Zone”

5. Verify CRS is correct and Click “OK”

6. Click “OK”
