Kespry Cloud: Compare Workspace

The Compare workspace allows you to view cut/fill changes between two missions and if you upload a design plan it can be used to keep track of progress and deviations from the plan here.
Note: Values will be displayed only when comparing between PPK or RTK corrected missions.

  1. Navigate to the ‘Compare’ workspace of Kespry Cloud.

  2. The left panel will display missions available to compare. Mission 1 (top of the panel) by default will be your most recent mission, scroll to select any other mission. Any design plan that you uploaded will appear in this section as well.

  3. Next, select the mission you would like to compare against (bottom of the panel). Filtering by date is available in both sections.

  4. Selected missions will be denoted by a blue marker. A green marker indicates a mission is in your current screen view and available to compare against, a red marker indicates the mission is not in your current screen view.

  5. Once you select the missions you want to compare, a colored cut/fill map is generated automatically.

  6. The panel at the bottom of your screen allows you to change views, and you can use the dropdown above the Toolbox (bottom-right) to switch between a Visual Map and DSM (Digital Surface Model).  The panel will give you the following options:

  • Cut/Fill map: This is a color coded representation of the changes between the two missions.

    • Blue areas have been filled [in - added] from Mission 2 to Mission 1

    • Red areas have been cut [out - removed] from Mission 2 to Mission 1

  • Fade: Use this option to fade from one mission to another

  • Mission 1: Visually represents Mission 1

  • Mission 2: Visually represents Mission 2

The Net Cut/Fill on the upper left denotes cut and fill volumes from Mission 2 to Mission 1 for all the areas that overlap between the missions, this includes trees and all objects on the ground. To find the cut/fill volume of a smaller area:

  1. Select Volume under the Compare menu in the Toolbox (bottom-right)

  2. Drop points around the area to form a polygon, you can close the polygon by double-clicking on the last point or clicking back on the first point dropped.

  3. A volume card will appear on the top left with the cut/fill volumes within the polygon, you can enter a name for your polygon and save it for future reference or your reporting needs.

Note: Your units can be changed at any time under Settings. If your area has vehicles or machinery that you would like to exclude from calculations turn on the option to use Feature Extracted DSM under Settings.
