Introduction

The map canvas refers to the main area of Firmatek Cloud’s interface with a global, interactive base map. Various map objects will display on the map canvas depending upon where you are in Firmatek Cloud.  For example, when you first log in to Firmatek Cloud, you will see the map canvas auto-zoomed to show all of the sites in Firmatek Cloud for which you have access. However, when viewing a deliverable, the site markers will disappear and you will see deliverable-specific map objects such as orthophotos and stockpile annotations. This map canvas automatically changes based on what you are trying to do in Firmatek Cloud.

Basic Map Controls

Pan

To pan the map, hold the left mouse button and move the mouse up, down, left, or right.

Zoom

You can use your mouse scroll to zoom in and out.  You can also use the zoom buttons in the lower right corner of the map canvas. For touchscreens, you can use two fingers to pinch into or out of the currently visible map.

Tilt and Rotate

To tilt and rotate the map, hold the right mouse button.  But please note that the base map and map objects in Firmatek Cloud are on 2D. You will find a 3D button on your screen that will allow you to view your data in 3D if available. To tilt and rotate, hold control while using your mouse.

To reset the map back to north being up, click on the Map button on the top right side of the header or refresh your browser.
